Introduction
DG21 is a company registered in Delaware and formed
specifically to bid for the Base Operations Support (BOS)
contract on Diego Garcia.
The company is owned by a consortium of multinational
companies comprising of First Support Services based in Dallas
Texas, DS2 based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and W. S. Atkins
based in Epsom, England. DS2 is itself a joint venture
between Day and Zimmerman and Lockheed Martin.
DG21 is a self-financing stand-alone company managed by a
Program Director reporting directly to the DG21 Board of Directors
with logistics offices in Seattle, Washington, Dau, Philippines and
agents in Singapore and Mauritius.
The workforce is predominantly Filipino managed by
expatriates from the United States and the United Kingdom. There
are also some employees from Singapore and Mauritius. There are no
families, spouses, or dependants on Diego Garcia.
We are a highly motivated professional
organization with an extraordinary range of talent operating in
a remote part of the world where all POL, material, equipment,
food and beverages, etc., have to be brought in over supply
timelines of one to six months.
Essentially our job is to administer a small township and procure
all
material, generate electrical power, pump and disinfect water
from shallow wells, manage an International Airport, oversee the
Port and Harbor facilities including water taxis and tugboats,
manage satellite and local communications and much more.
Clearly this work requires a high level of expertise as well
as subject matter skills and people who are
self-starters and can work with minimum supervision. |
